A Caring Savior

Life has its share of fear and failure. Sometimes things fall short, don’t quite measure up. Sometimes in our life, we are seemingly left without strength to go on. Sometimes people fail us, or economies and circumstance fail us, and life with its hardship and heartache can leave us feeling very alone.

Cast all your cares upon Christ, “for he careth for you” (1 Pet. 5:7)

A Prayer For My Brother

After looking at this powerful work, it may not surprise you to learn that Phillips is a former firefighter. (Bill left the profession after 16 years when he began to earn a living through his art.) Bill has painted this iconic and heroic work of art to support firefighters nationwide. He hopes that the outpouring of support for New York fire fighters continues to raise awareness and appreciation for the everyday, unsung heroes in communities everywhere.

Add To Your Faith

This young woman has learned to let her light shine before the world, to show faith with good works. She looks upward and onward, while "standing as a witness of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places." We are so fortunate to have a growing generation of valiant souls that will continue to show exemplary behavior, serve others with kindness and charity, and make the world a better place.

Angel Unaware

This unassuming young woman has been endowed with wings and grace with such force that even the invisible has left its shadow on stone. And she's not sure what just happened...

"She remains modest and humble and is probably unaware of what she has done. Her service and kindness just seemed like the right thing to do," says artists James C. Christensen.

Angel Unobserved

"The veil between us and heaven can be quite thin or, at times, a little thicker. This girl’s eyes are open to experience but, like other teenagers, the things she is most aware of concern herself,” says artist James Christensen. “There’s a veil between who she is now, and the woman she will become, much less a higher power. She’s not conscious of the angel that watches over her,” says James Christensen. “The key to it, though, is that we all have someone keeping an eye on us."

Angels Of My Village

While traveling in Umbria this past summer, artist James Christensen was inspired by the architecture of the region, the "piled and stacked buildings" of the hill towns. He filled his sketchbooks with Italian landscapes and cityscapes such as the one found in his newest piece, Angels of My Village. The illuminated landscape and hand-layered gold leaf of the painting call to mind the angels found in medieval manuscripts. "In my mind," says Jim, "it was kind of a thank-you painting for the feelings that we´re not alone. I think we need to remember that we do have angels watching over us. Even if you live in New York City, you have your village. I know every single person within three blocks of me. We help one another and are the angels for one another. We are the angels of our villages."

Aspen Angel

Aspen was born very small (about 4 lbs). Doctors labeled her with “failure to thrive” yet she was then and is to this day a fighter. As a result of having a tiny frame, she has the perfect china doll profile, which I just had to paint. So I decided to create this painting of Aspen as a little angel in a moment of reverence.

The background and underpainting are acrylic. I then painted top colors using oil paint because it is easier to blend in oil paint.
