In painting the Savior, I know that people’s perceptions of Him may be influenced by what I paint. This is an awesome responsibility. I have the opportunity to show a Savior full of life and love who smiles and laughs. Besides his happiness, I can also show a Savior who from time to time furrows his brow or bites his lip with frustration. He weeps under the weight of betrayal and pain. I can show his mortal side as well as his Godhood; I need to see and show the full breadth of his life. Let The Children Come attempts to show the Savior who rejoices in the innocence of every child and loves them without reservation.
