Jesus sent his disciples into the world two by two and told them to "carry neither purse, nor script." (Luke 10:4) This was quite an undertaking for such a group, but Jesus promised them that His Father would take care of them.



"Into whatsoever house yew enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it." (Luke 10:5-6)
