My image of Emma in the beginning was one of sadness. Although my first impression of her is probably accurate to some degree, common sense tells me that not all things are bad all the time. If you live long enough you come to realize the balance. That holds true for all of us. Nauvoo was the balance. It provided time for the saints to rest from the past and recharge for the future. Emma had time in Nauvoo to do and be all the things that she had longed for. It was a time to delight in all her roles: Prophet’s wife, a leader of women and a moth. . .
